英國陸軍參謀長說：歐洲的1937年時刻再現！

昨天聽到這場演說，就想分享說，英國的陸軍總參謀長Patrick Sanders真的說的很棒！

“Given the commitments of the US in Asia during the 20s and 30s, I believe that the burden for conventional deterrence in Europe will fall increasingly to European members of NATO and the JEF. This is right in my view: taking up the burden in Europe means we can free more US resources to ensure that our values and interests are protected in the Indo-Pacific”

由上面這段我摘出的演說內容，可以明顯看到北約的兩個龍頭國家，美國與英國，是有做出分工的。英國將率領美國以外的北約（NATO）國家，與由英國領軍的聯合遠征軍（JEF*），來保衛歐洲（對抗俄羅斯），好讓美國空出手來，專心（協同日本）來保衛印太地區的和平（對抗中國）。這段話符合並能說明英美兩國最近的所有作為。

*JEF（Joint Expeditionary Force，聯合遠征軍）是英國於2014年簽約成立，其人員和設備组成來自皇家海軍、皇家海軍陸戰隊、英國陸軍和皇家空軍，其設計目標在整合英軍戰力，尤其以與他國的武裝部隊進行更好的戰力整合為要。參與英國JEF的國家現在有八個：丹麥、愛沙尼亞、芬蘭、拉脫維亞、立陶宛、荷蘭、挪威、瑞典。（請注意，現在芬蘭與瑞典還未加入北約，但它們已經是JEF的成員國。）

英國陸軍參謀長Sir Patrick Sanders在演講中以1937年比擬當今局勢，聲稱「這是我們的1937年時刻」。Sanders並表示：雖然英國目前尚未開戰，但若未能迅速採取行動遏止（俄國的）領土擴張，很快就會被拖進一場戰爭。（This is our 1937 moment. We are not at war - but we must act rapidly so that we aren’t drawn into one through a failure to contain territorial expansion.）
演講很不錯。只是說，許多政治人物可能更想上演1938年的慕尼黑時刻就是了。
